According to Windows Central, Avowed is an “action-oriented first-person combat and deep RPG exploration and narrative systems” that’s working on an engine similar to that of Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds. Speaking with “trusted and proven sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans”, the report details the game’s combat styles, artistic aesthetics, and links to other games in Obsidian’s back catalog. There’s been little in the way of official news when it comes to Avowed, but a report from Windows Central (opens in new tab) may have shed at least a little more like on what we can expect from the game. "Just to reiterate: 'I have no idea whether the game will be shown off today, but it went through a major leadership change last year and has been rebooted multiple times," the post read. However, Schreier has since confirmed on ResetEra (opens in new tab) that he has "no idea" if Avowed will make an appearance at the showcase. The Xbox exclusive certainly stirred up some pre-show rumors thanks to a since-deleted tweet from industry veteran and insider, Jason Schreier, who posted on NeoGAF (opens in new tab) that he didn't expect to play Avowed for a while and was unsure whether it would appear at the showcase on June 12. Right now, it's uncertain whether Avowed will make an appearance at the Xbox and Bethesda Games showcase.
